Hector.
Never ending source of inspiration, unique characteristics that are so familiar and typical at the same time, Hector is the star of the show and I am compelled to capture his life in images. Photographs help to compose the subject to identify the quirks that need broadcasting. I sketch a simplified version as a template for a woodcut matrix or etching plate. The use of different colours reflects Hector’s character and his form, or his place in space, I aim to single him out and elevate his behaviours. In the literal and metaphoric sense, my aim is to show Hector as everything but a beige cat.
